Kohima: Deputy Commissioner Polan John has issued a formal advisory after African Swine Fever was detected in Toulazouma Village. To prevent the spread of the disease, the local administration has established a one-kilometre infected zone around the epicentre and a ten-kilometre surveillance zone.

Officials have strictly prohibited the movement and transportation of pigs and pork products within and beyond these designated areas. The slaughter, sale, and distribution of all pork-related items are banned until further notice. Authorities are requiring pig farmers to follow biosecurity protocols and report any signs of illness or sudden deaths among their livestock to the nearest veterinary office immediately.
