Guwahati: Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda is on the ground in the Sivasagar district of Assam. He is serving meals to displaced families who lost their homes to recent floods. Hooda is working with the humanitarian organization Global Sikhs to deliver aid. They have operated at the Sivasagar Railway Station for the last seven days.
Flood victims fled from surrounding areas to find shelter at the station. Hooda is there every day. "This is the Sivasagar Railway Station, and many affected families have come here from the surrounding areas. We prepare food and bring it to them, and we have been doing this every day for the last seven days," Hooda said.
He praised the relief team for their long-term commitment to disaster response. Hooda has worked with Global Sikhs for several years. He witnessed their consistent work firsthand. "I have been working with the same team, Global Sikhs, for many years, and the ground work they do is amazing," he noted.
The actor is now calling for national support. He wants citizens to step up and help those struggling. He believes aid is a basic duty. "Humanity is above everything else," he stated. Hooda urged the public to provide any resources they can to those in need, insisting that people should assist others wherever a crisis occurs.
