Kohima: Bloomfield Hill Higher Secondary School in Zunheboto launched its two-day summer camp this Thursday under the theme Explosion of Mind. The program focuses on enhancing social ethics, personal hygiene, and the creative potential of local students.
Guest speaker Boholi H Zhimo, the Assistant Pastor for children at SBCZ, led a session on social ethics. She urged the attendees to practice humility and gratitude while interacting with peers, teachers, and family. Zhimo stressed the necessity of polite communication, noting that children should regularly use expressions like, "please, thank you, sorry, excuse me and you are welcome" during their daily interactions.
The instruction extended to classroom conduct, where students were encouraged to maintain discipline, speak respectfully, and raise their hands before asking questions. Beyond behavior, the event highlighted the importance of establishing healthy personal hygiene habits early in life to ensure long-term well-being.
The camp's theme session, led by Chaplain Hukatoli H Achumi, challenged participants to push their boundaries through creative thinking and confidence-building exercises. The first day served students up to Class VI with a schedule packed with praise, worship, Zumba, and educational talks. Organizers have planned a second day for older students, which will cover topics such as youth development, team-building, and substance abuse awareness.
