Kohima: Zunheboto Deputy Commissioner Dharam Raj has released a comprehensive set of security and conduct guidelines for the Atoizu Town Council Ward-9 by-election vote count. The process is scheduled to begin at 8 AM on June 19 at the District Civil Supply Office in Zunheboto, following the official timeline set by the Nagaland State Election Commission.
Access to the counting hall is restricted to authorized personnel. Only candidates, their designated election agents, counting agents with official identification, and relevant government staff will be permitted inside. To maintain the integrity of the process, officials have strictly prohibited the use or possession of mobile phones within the counting area.
The administration is also taking a firm stance against potential unrest. All sloganeering, rallies, and public processions are banned in and around the venue to prevent disturbances. Authorities explicitly warned that anyone attempting to intimidate or provoke rival candidates will face consequences under the law. Regarding these measures, the order cautioned against any action that could disrupt the proceedings, warning that violators will face legal action under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
District officials have appealed to all involved parties to cooperate to ensure the counting remains transparent and orderly. The administration emphasized its commitment to upholding fairness and maintaining peace throughout the conclusion of the by-election.
