Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland Demands Release of Abducted Naga Civilians

Kohima: The Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland has issued a sharp condemnation following the abduction and detention of six Naga civilians from the Liangmai community in Manipur's Kangpokpi district. The organization is calling for the immediate and unconditional release of these individuals, whom they believe are being held by Kuki armed militants.

Beyond the detention of the six villagers, the group addressed several other violent incidents. These include the abduction of two Catholic brothers in Sapormeina, an ambush that resulted in the deaths of three church leaders from the Thadao Baptist Association India, and the killing of Wilson Thanga from the Chiru community.

The Zeliangrong Baudi rejected claims from the Kuki Inpi Manipur, which previously stated it had no knowledge regarding the missing Nagas. The organization labeled that assertion as false. Additionally, the group criticized recent comments made by Kuki Students’ Organisation Nagaland president Tony Singsit in a YouTube interview. They argued that his narrative was misleading and could incite communal tensions that risk dragging the ongoing conflict in Manipur into Nagaland.
