Wokha Town Council delegates visit Mokokchung to improve municipal services

Kohima: A delegation from the Wokha Town Council traveled to Mokokchung on June 12 to explore methods for strengthening local municipal administration. Led by Chairperson W Myingthungo Kikon, the group aimed to gain practical insights into civic operations and service delivery during their exposure tour.

The two councils met at the Mokokchung Municipal Council Conference Hall to facilitate a coordination session. During the discussion, members reviewed ongoing civic initiatives, shared their respective experiences, and brainstormed strategies for addressing common governance challenges.

As part of the visit, the Wokha delegation inspected local infrastructure to better understand how the town manages its resources. They toured the abattoir, the compost plant, and the Material Recovery Facility to observe the city's waste management operations firsthand. Describing the purpose of the visit, the organizers noted the trip was focused on "strengthening municipal administration and improving service delivery" across the region.
