Kohima: Dimapur officially gained a new ride-hailing tool. The WHIZZ mobility app arrived on August 29. Zasivikho Zakiesato, president of the Dimapur Urban Council Chairman Federation, launched the software during the 7th Foundation Day celebration of the Dimapur District Two Wheeler Taxi Association. The event took place at the Kuda 'A' Khel Jotsoma Community Hall.
Technology drives this new platform. It aims to modernize two-wheeler taxi services while creating jobs for local youth. DDTWTA president Shiyeto Wotsa praised the seven-year journey of the organization, noting its success in providing affordable transit to the public. During his address, Zakiesato pushed for better conduct on the streets. He said, "Greater discipline and responsibility among riders, particularly with regard to road safety," must remain a top priority.
Dimapur Traffic Police held an awareness session during the event. They instructed members on traffic rules to ensure safer driving habits. The day also featured an invocation by Vikito Wotsa and a welcome address from Khrozote Kapfo. Performers included Limeka B. Swu and Elina B. Swu, while Matsung Ozukum delivered a special presentation called I am a Taxi Rider. General secretary Honko Konyak closed the program with a vote of thanks before the communal feast.
