Shillong: Krishi Vigyan Kendra hosted the PM-Kisan Utsav Diwas in Wahiajer. They partnered with the District Agriculture Offices of West and East Jaintia Hills to hold the event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 23rd instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme via a hybrid ceremony. The funds hit accounts nationwide.
MDC MB Rymbai attended as the chief guest for the day. Dr. D Rymbai, head of the local KVK, spoke to the crowd about the program. He explained how the scheme functions as a core pillar for rural livelihoods. G Nongdtu, an assistant director with the agriculture department, broke down the finer points for the attendees. He briefed local farmers on specific eligibility criteria and how they can access benefits moving forward.
Farmers from both districts engaged in a live Q&A session with experts. They sought technical advice to improve their yields. The KVK staff also handed out agricultural supplies to help boost local production. Dr. Rymbai highlighted the scheme’s role in supporting rural livelihoods, noting that these resources aim to push farmers toward better technologies.
