Shillong: Sixty off-roaders roared into the Garo Hills on August 15. They came for the Expedition 2026 event. Tribal Torque 4x4 ran the show alongside Meghalaya Tourism. The crews smashed through some of the region's most punishing tracks to put local adventure tourism on the map.
Organizers want people to leave their screens behind. They pushed for a real connection with the outdoors. A secretary for Tribal Torque 4x4 explained the mission: "The event sought to reconnect people with nature in an increasingly digital age."
The group also took time to celebrate one of their own. They honored Aneesh Sangma for his second-place finish in the 2025 Indian National Rally Championship. Officials hope this focus on responsible exploration proves Meghalaya is a top-tier destination for thrill-seekers.
