Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan Visits Sikkim for 51st Statehood Day Celebrations

Gangtok: Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan arrived in Sikkim on May 16 for a formal one-day visit to participate in the state's 51st Statehood Day celebrations. Upon his arrival at the Tourist Facilitation Centre in Rangpo, he was greeted by high-ranking officials including Additional Secretary Home Mingma Diki Sherpa, Pakyong District Collector Pari Bishnoi, Senior Superintendent of Police Paru Ruchal, and SDM Sujata Subba. The welcoming party presented the Vice President with ceremonial khadas to mark the occasion.

Following his arrival, the Vice President traveled to Lok Bhavan, where he received a ceremonial Guard of Honour. The event was attended by Governor Om Prakash Mathur, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, and a delegation of cabinet ministers and senior government officials. After the reception, the Vice President and his entourage moved to the Raj Bhawan in Gangtok. The primary focus of his visit remains the official Statehood Day ceremony scheduled at Manan Kendra later today.
