Agartala: The Superintendent of Police for Tripura’s West District, Namit Pathak, has issued a strict directive banning police officers from posting social media content while in uniform. This move follows reports of officers creating reels and videos that officials believe damage the public image and discipline of the Tripura Police.

The memorandum clarifies that the uniform serves as a symbol of authority and public trust. Consequently, officers are prohibited from using their professional attire for entertainment, personal publicity, or commercial promotions. Pathak noted the department's concern, stating that "frivolous, objectionable, or inappropriate content" negatively affects the discipline and reputation of the force.

The policy applies to all personnel, including members of the Tripura State Rifles. Supervisory officers must now monitor their subordinates to ensure they adhere to these standards. Any violation of these guidelines will be treated as a serious disciplinary matter, with authorities promising strict action against those who fail to uphold the dignity of the department.
