Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh police tracked down a wanted man in Dhemaji, Assam, on September 4. The arrest targeted Gokar Bam, a known history-sheeter linked to a kidnapping and sexual assault case in the Shi-Yomi district. Local authorities confirmed the capture followed a joint operation between Arunachal Pradesh and Assam police units.

The victim is safe. She is now under government care and protection. Mechukha Deputy Superintendent of Police Radhe Obing confirmed the suspect was wanted for a case filed at the Mechuka Police Station. Officials described Bam as a habitual criminal with an extensive rap sheet. Multiple cases remain open against him at stations in Aalo, Basar, Kamba, and the Capital Complex. The DySP stated, "Bam will be produced before a court in Aalo, West Siang district." Police continue to dig into the details as the investigation moves forward.
