Agartala: Tripura Police secured the top spot among all state and union territory police forces for using the National Intelligence Grid, or NATGRID, during June 2026. The force beat every other agency in the country to take the lead. This achievement signals a sharp pivot toward technology-driven police work.

NATGRID lets law enforcement agencies pull and study data from various secure databases. This setup helps officers build better intelligence to stop, find, and investigate crimes. By tapping into these digital tools, the department hopes to sharpen its overall investigative reach.

The department credited the success to its leadership and the daily grit of its personnel. "Securing the No. 1 position nationally in NATGRID usage is a significant milestone for Tripura Police," officials stated. Moving forward, the force plans to keep pushing these digital platforms to stay ahead of criminal activity and keep the people of Tripura safe.

Commanders credit the ranking to proactive supervision and a steady push to integrate high-tech tools into day-to-day operations. This rank proves the force is moving past traditional methods to prioritize intelligence-led crime fighting.

The department plans to stack more digital tools onto their existing toolkit. The goal is to tighten intelligence gathering and speed up how they identify and stop local threats.
