Seven Manipur Police Officers Receive Independence Day Honors

Imphal: Seven Manipur Police officers earned national honors for their service. The state police department revealed the list on August 14 ahead of Independence Day 2026. These awards recognize professional dedication and commitment to duty across the ranks.

Arambam Lokhendro Singh, an Armed Police Sub-Inspector, received the President's Medal for Distinguished Service. Six other officers earned the Medal for Meritorious Service. This group includes Inspector General Ningshen Worngam, Commandant Sarma Devi Khoisnam, and Commandant Wungpam Kasar. Havildar Leivon Lemboi Kom joins Subedar Irungbam Shyamsunder Singh and Subedar Birla Singh Soraisham on the list of honorees.

The force commended the group for their performance. "The honours recognised their exemplary service, dedication and commitment to duty," the Manipur Police stated.
