Guwahati: Three Tinsukia police personnel earned Silver medals in the 2026 Assam Police DGP’s Commendation Medal awards. DGP Harmeet Singh issued the seven-page order on October 1. The state recognizes their efforts in crime control, security, and armed operations. Hard work pays off.

Dinesh Pratap Singh Rathore, the Additional Superintendent of Police for Crime, made the list. He previously worked as the SDPO in Margherita where he hunted down anti-social elements. Mrinmoy Das, the Additional Superintendent of Police for HQ, also received the honor. Das manages security and insurgency threats in the sensitive border zones.

Pankaj Sonar, a Lance Naik from the 2nd Assam Police Battalion in Makum, rounds out the group. The order highlights their “outstanding meritorious work” across the state. These officers operate in a rough region. Tinsukia holds major oil fields, coal belts, tea gardens, and corridors leading into Arunachal Pradesh.

Commanders must now update service records for all three men. They will also hand over the formal notifications. The awards cover a wide range of ranks from across the force.
