Agartala: The Tripura Police has introduced strict guidelines prohibiting officers from creating or sharing social media content while in uniform. This move follows an official memorandum issued by the Superintendent of Police in West Tripura, which addresses the rising trend of personnel uploading reels and short videos that fail to reflect professional standards.

The order mandates that all staff, including members of the Tripura State Rifles, must avoid any digital activity that could damage the reputation or decorum of the department. The memorandum states that the police uniform represents authority, responsibility, integrity, and public confidence, noting that personnel are expected to uphold the highest standards of conduct whenever they wear it.

Authorities have explicitly banned the use of police attire for personal branding, entertainment, or promotional purposes. Supervisory officers are now tasked with monitoring online activity and educating subordinates on appropriate digital conduct. Personnel are required to report any objectionable content through the chain of command, as the department plans to address violations through formal disciplinary proceedings.
