Tripura Government Launches Rural Economic Initiative in Belonia

Agartala: Tripura officials gathered at the Old Town Hall in Belonia today to launch the Viksit Bharat- Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission- Gramin, or VB-G RAM G. The initiative aims to fortify the rural economy while building durable infrastructure. It targets village-level development through improved job opportunities and skill building.

Panchayat Minister Kishore Barman opened the district-level conference. He argued the program offers more robust development potential than MGNREGA. Barman pressed local representatives to focus on community-specific needs and solid maintenance plans for all new projects. He called for better synergy between the public and government staff. Barman stated, "The initiative can play a significant role in realizing the Prime Minister's vision of a Viksit Bharat."

Cooperation Minister Shukla Charan Noatia attended the session alongside other key officials. Noatia expects rapid results if representatives and residents coordinate their efforts. He emphasized that the mission will spark new employment for villagers. The event featured a welcome address from Additional District Magistrate Shanti Ranjan Chakma. South Tripura Zilla Sabhadhipati Dipak Datta also addressed the room.

The meeting included BDOs, various Panchayat representatives, and local officials. Attendees also included social worker Dipayan Chowdhury and Central Works Training Institute Principal Sumit Majumdar. Tapan Debnath, Saha-Sabhadhipati of the South Tripura Zilla Parishad, chaired the workshop.
