Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday to discuss a wide range of development projects and organizational priorities for the state. During the meeting, Saha formally requested the establishment of an All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Tripura to bolster the state's advanced healthcare capabilities.
The Chief Minister also presented several infrastructure and connectivity proposals. He called for the expansion of the national highway between Kamalpur and Shantirbazar, alongside the introduction of double railway lines and Vande Bharat train services. Economic and sectoral growth remained a primary focus, with discussions covering the development of the dairy industry, sports infrastructure, and the creation of technology sector jobs.
Saha highlighted the need for increased housing allotments under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and more Eklavya Model Residential Schools. He also requested expanded natural gas allocations and the extension of Antyodaya Anna Yojana ration benefits for families within the Bru community.
Beyond state affairs, Saha congratulated the Prime Minister on the BJP's recent electoral success in West Bengal and marked his 12 years of public service. As a gesture of goodwill, he presented the Prime Minister with a framed image of the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple, noting that its recent redevelopment under the PRASAD scheme has turned the site into a significant tourism hub.
