Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has issued a formal invitation to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and top government leaders from across the country to visit the Tripura Sundari Temple in Gomati district. The list of invitees includes members of the Union Cabinet, Governors, Lieutenant Governors, Chief Ministers, and Deputy Chief Ministers from all states and Union Territories.

In his letter, Saha emphasized the deep historical and spiritual significance of the site. As one of India’s 51 Shakti Peethas, the temple dates back over five centuries and serves as a vital symbol of local faith and communal harmony. The shrine attracts countless pilgrims and tourists annually, with its signature Diwali Fair standing out as one of the state's largest cultural events.

Saha noted that the area has recently undergone significant beautification and infrastructure upgrades supported by the central government’s PRASAD Scheme during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's tenure. By encouraging high-profile visits to the temple, the Chief Minister aims to elevate Tripura’s status on the national tourism map and promote the state’s rich cultural identity.
