Agartala: Tipra Motha Party founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma confirmed that negotiations with the central government regarding the Tiprasa Accord have regained momentum. This progress follows the party's recent success in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council elections, which Debbarma identified as a major political milestone for the indigenous community.

Addressing supporters via a social media livestream, Debbarma emphasized that the electoral victory is only part of a broader mission. He remains focused on securing long-term constitutional, financial, and land rights for the Tiprasa people. Reflecting on the ongoing struggle, he said, "The fight continues. The election result reflects the aspirations of the Tiprasa people and their determination to secure their future and protect their rights."

To advance these discussions, Debbarma has engaged with national leadership, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and officials from the Intelligence Bureau. A new interlocutor has been appointed to oversee the accord negotiations, a move Debbarma describes as an encouraging step toward resolving long-standing grievances. He noted that Delhi now has a clearer understanding of the sentiments held by the indigenous population.

Debbarma defended his meetings with central authorities, stating that these interactions are essential for achieving the party's objectives rather than a pursuit of partisan politics. He maintained that the party remains committed to securing protections for Tripura's indigenous people that align with those granted to other communities in the Northeast.
