Kohima: Students at Ruzhukhrie Government Higher Secondary School in Kohima gathered for the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Vikshit Bharat programme. The event pushed the theme My Health, My Pride to warn teenagers about drug abuse. The NSS unit of RGHSS hosted the session alongside the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the Regional Directorate NSS based in Guwahati.
Medical Officer Dr. Moajungla from CHC Chiephobozou led the room. She explained how addiction traps people and listed the heavy physical and mental costs. She told the crowd: "She highlighted the stages of addiction, its physical and psychological consequences, and stressed the role of counselling and rehabilitation." She also pushed the attendees to watch for the specific situations that lead to substance use.
Four volunteers named Benchio, Junta, Rose, and Sharon took the floor for the Youth Engagement session. They talked about the daily pressures they face and why communities must work together to fight drugs. NSS Programme Officers B. Orenvungo Yanthan and Moatemsu Jamir managed the proceedings.
A total of 330 NSS volunteers participated. Every attendee signed the Nasha Mukt pledge. They committed to a sober lifestyle to build a stronger, more responsible future for India.
