Sikkim Commemorates 51st Statehood Day with Dignitaries and Development Initiatives

Gangtok: Sikkim celebrated its 51st Statehood Day with a formal ceremony held at Manan Kendra in Gangtok. The event was attended by Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan, who arrived in the state following a challenging road journey, demonstrating a strong commitment to the region despite inclement weather. Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, Governor Om Prakash Mathur, Union Minister for Communications and DoNER Jyotiraditya Scindia, and Lok Sabha MP Indra Hang Subba were also in attendance to mark the milestone.

During the proceedings, Chief Minister Tamang highlighted the state's alignment with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, placing a significant emphasis on national security, unity, and integrity. The celebration served as a platform for the virtual inauguration of various development projects intended to further the state's progress. The Chief Minister also reflected on the recent Golden Jubilee celebrations, noting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi previously recognized Sikkim for its commendable achievements in sustainable development and environmental conservation.
