Rotary Club Honors Six for Professional Excellence in Shillong

Shillong: The Rotary Club Orchid City handed out six Vocational Excellence Awards on Thursday. The ceremony took place at the State Convention Centre in Shillong. Organizers honored Ferrinard Lyngdoh Marshillong, Aibor Andrew, Starina Jasain, Sunny Mawlong, Dr. Rittwik Barman, and Fr. Michael Makri for their professional impact and community service.

Paul Lyngdoh, an adviser to the Social Welfare Department, served as the chief guest. He urged attendees to follow the examples set by the recipients. He said, "True excellence is measured by the willingness to serve others."

The club aims to spotlight individuals who keep high ethical standards at work. They hope the awards push younger people to blend career success with duty to their neighbors. The event wrapped up by celebrating the Rotary motto: Service Above Self.
