Rescue Footage Emerges From Trapped Sikkim Tunnel

Gangtok: New video shows the inside of the Jholungey Tunnel in Sikkim. It reveals the high-stakes rescue that saved 16 trapped workers. The footage tracks the dangerous path responders took through the site.

Pakyong Additional Superintendent of Police, the Rangpo Sub-Divisional Police Officer, and Rangpo Fire Station crews recorded the clips. These teams led the effort to reach the men. They worked under brutal conditions. They assessed the site while coordinating the evacuation.

The workers made it out alive. Rescuers moved them to the Primary Health Centre in Rangpo immediately. Doctors performed medical exams and provided treatment there. The operation relied on the combined work of police and fire services. The success of the mission brought relief to the region.
