Rajasthan Freezes Incentives to Goyal Fashions Amid IAS Corruption Probe

Shillong: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma stopped all government benefits for Goyal Fashions Private Limited. The firm now waits for the outcome of an Anti-Corruption Bureau probe. The state issued orders to freeze the company's customised package under the Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme. No concessions go to the firm until investigators finish their work.

This case centers on senior IAS officer Shikhar Agrawal. He served as Additional Chief Secretary of the Industries Department. Authorities allege Agrawal misused his authority to help the company secure illicit perks. Officials claim he granted concessions and bypassed construction rules for Ananta brand resorts without checking mandatory certificates. The government approved a deep investigation under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

Investigators are now picking apart real estate deals. They suspect Agrawal bought multiple villas and cottages in Udaipur and Alwar at basement prices. They are tracking money flows and registration dates to spot a link between these properties and state-backed favors. Sharma maintains a hard line. He stated, "Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma's government has made it clear that industrial development and investment promotion cannot come at the cost of transparency and integrity."
