Agartala: Tipra Motha Party founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma announced on June 11 that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pledged to address ongoing concerns in Tripura and the wider North East. The royal scion met with the Prime Minister during an NDA gathering, where he received assurances regarding the implementation of the Tiprasa Accord.
Pradyot expressed confidence that the Central government understands the urgency of the situation and the needs of the indigenous population. He stated that his primary goal is to secure constitutional, political, and land rights for the people of Tripura rather than engaging in partisan politics. He noted that the Prime Minister inquired about his family and emphasized a collaborative approach to solving regional problems.
Reflecting on the recent success in the TTAADC polls, Pradyot stressed that the focus must remain on the next generation. He warned that certain elements within Tripura are working to undermine the agreement. As he pointed out, "After the TTAADC election, the Centre understood that it is not about politics but about giving rights to the Tiprasa people."
Moving forward, Pradyot plans to continue discussions with Intelligence Bureau officials and government interlocutors. He reiterated that his commitment lies in achieving the core objectives of the Tiprasa Accord rather than blaming past leadership or political affiliations. He maintains that the path to progress requires moving beyond historical political divisions to secure meaningful rights for the local community.
