Police Seize Rs 2 Crore in Cannabis at Assam Border

Guwahati: Security forces intercepted a massive drug haul at the Srirampur check gate in Assam. The bust occurred at the Kokrajhar district border where officers stopped a truck headed for Bihar. They found 2,030 kg of ganja hidden under a load of bamboo.

Officers acted on a tip. They pulled 203 packets from the truck. Each bag held roughly 10 kg of the illegal drug. The total street value of the stash sits at more than Rs 2 crore.

Police arrested the driver, Ram Lakhan Rajbhar, and his assistant, Manoj Chauhan. Both men live in Uttar Pradesh. Investigators say the truck started in Tezpur and aimed for Muzaffarpur. Authorities are currently questioning the pair. They suspect a larger trafficking network is behind the shipment.

Officials are working to uncover the source of the drugs and find the intended recipients. Regarding the ongoing investigation, officials stated, "The arrested accused are being questioned as authorities investigate the source of the consignment and the intended recipients."
