NSCN-IM Denies Involvement in Ukhrul Army Convoy Attack

Kohima: The NSCN (I-M) denied any part in the ambush of an Indian Armed Forces convoy. The attack happened near the Nungshang river in Ukhrul district at 1:30 p.m. on July 6. Reports linked the assault to a breakaway group known as the Eastern Flank faction.

The group’s information wing rejected these claims. They insisted no such faction exists within their ranks. "The reported ambush, allegedly carried out by an armed group suspected to be the breakaway Eastern Flank faction, had no connection whatsoever with NSCN/GPRN," the organization stated.

They remain committed to the ceasefire agreement. They follow all established ground rules. The group vowed not to sabotage current Indo-Naga political talks. They want an honorable solution. The NSCN (I-M) urged all parties to exercise restraint to avoid creating instability.
