Kohima: The NSCN (I-M) has reaffirmed its dedication to the Naga political movement and the 2015 Indo-Naga Framework Agreement. This stance follows a joint council meeting held at the group’s headquarters in Hebron, which addressed recent internal concerns regarding the organization’s strategic direction.
A faction known as the NSCN (I-M) Eastern Flank recently accused the Hebron leadership of abandoning core objectives and accepting a compromised position on Naga political issues. In response, the council issued a statement asserting that the leadership team, including Yaruiwo Q. Tuccu, Kedalo Tongmeth Wangnao, Th. Muivah, and V.S. Atem, remains steadfast in its original mission.
The council explicitly declared that the NSCN/GPRN has never surrendered and will not concede on what it termed the “sacred Naga national cause.” The group also endorsed its collective leadership to continue guiding the organization and the broader movement for self-determination.
The council described the 2015 Framework Agreement as the foundational basis for an honorable political settlement. Leaders called upon all Naga citizens, regional authorities, and supporters to maintain unity behind the collective leadership as the movement enters a defining period in its history.
