Kohima: The NSCN/GPRN (Niki) issued a call for unity Monday as it sent Tuluni festival greetings to the Sumi community. Cabinet Secretary Repento Ayemi urged people to protect their cultural roots. The group says tradition sustains the community.
Tuluni marks a time for thanksgiving and friendship. The outfit argues that Naga identity depends on staying true to the past. It claims that a people who remain faithful to their history, traditions and collective aspirations cannot be erased by the passage of time.
The group wants Nagas to look past tribal differences. It demands a renewed push for peace and justice. By working together, the faction believes the community can secure a better future for the next generation.
