Kohima: The NNC/FGN issued a statement on Friday distancing the organization from three men recently arrested for allegedly extorting money from the public. The group identified the individuals as Senlo Khing, Kitoho H Zhimomi, and Tovito Kiba. Officials confirmed these men held no affiliation with the organization and were using the guise of Naga nationalism to secure illegal financial gains.
According to the organization, the accused operated across the Kohima and Dimapur regions by collecting unauthorized levies. Vepozo Chuzo, the Rali Wali Kilonser of the NNC/FGN, stated that the men lacked any understanding of Naga political aspirations or the organization's governing laws. He said, "These individuals are mere racketeers who, taking advantage of the present political crisis, have turned it into a lucrative enterprise, extracting illegal taxes from the people under the pretext of Naga nationalism."
The NNC/FGN urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid interacting with such individuals. The statement also expressed broader concerns regarding social issues, specifically condemning moral decadence and sexual depravity. The organization called on all citizens to protect the traditions and values of the Naga people against these unscrupulous elements.
