NIA Charges 11 in JMB Terror Conspiracy Plot

Shillong: The National Investigation Agency filed charges against 11 suspects in Guwahati on Friday. This case targets a deadly terror conspiracy linked to Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh. The accused face counts under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The agency claims the group operated under the banner of Imam Mahmuder Kafila. This module aims to spread extremist ideology through the Northeast and West Bengal. Senior JMB member Imam Mahmud Habibullah reportedly formed this group to grow the outfit's reach on Indian soil. The reach was broad.

Suspects held covert meetings and ran indoctrination programs. They pushed extremist literature and used digital platforms for anti-India propaganda. The agency recovered electronic devices and documents that confirm these activities. Investigators claim the network worked to radicalize vulnerable youth.

Two leaders held top spots in the operation. Nasimuddin managed activities in Assam. Jagir Mia handled the outfit in Tripura. The agency stated that the accused were "promoting allegiance to the leadership of IMK/JMB." The investigation remains active as authorities track the remaining network.
