Guwahati: Residents in Nagaon's Raidongia are fighting back against their local gas provider. Consumers allege that BINU'S INDANE agency is shaking them down for cash. The agency staff is reportedly charging customers Rs 200 for mandatory e-KYC updates. This is a common service that should be free.
The pressure does not end there. Patrons claim they must buy a gas pipe for an additional Rs 200 to secure their LPG cylinders. Staff members allegedly told them that the cylinder would not be provided unless they purchased the pipe. One local consumer stated, "The cylinder would not be provided unless they purchased the pipe."
These practices have fueled deep anger throughout rural communities in the region. Many people now believe this is part of a larger scheme. Consumers report that middlemen are operating across several gas agencies in the area to siphon money from unsuspecting families. Citizens are demanding a thorough investigation into the agency and immediate action against those responsible for these demands.
