Nagaland Science and Technology Advisor Urges Greater Political Focus

Kohima: Kuzholuzo Nienu, the newly appointed Advisor to the Department of Science and Technology for the Government of Nagaland, met with departmental staff and officials in Kohima on June 11. The introductory session served to outline the future direction of the agency and its role in the state's development.

During his address, Nienu emphasized that scientific advancement is a global driver of progress. He encouraged state leaders to dedicate more resources and focus to the department to ensure Nagaland does not fall behind. "If Nagaland wants to move ahead, the political leadership needs to give more importance to this department," he said.

Department officials expressed optimism regarding Nienu's leadership and the potential for positive institutional change. Key figures in attendance included Principal Secretary I Himato Zhimomi, Secretary Sara S Jamir, and ex-officio director Zeneikhonuo Vimero, who chaired the event.
