Nagaland Minister Praises Modi Era as Period of National Resurgence

Kohima: Nagaland Higher Education and Tourism Minister Temjen Imna Along has lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 12-year tenure as a transformative era that has reshaped India’s social, cultural, and economic landscape. During a press conference at the BJP state office in Kohima, the minister stated that the government’s focus has shifted toward public welfare rather than traditional power dynamics.

Addressing the media, Along remarked, "This period has become a symbol not merely of a change in government but of a resurgence in national consciousness." He highlighted that initiatives like the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana and Direct Benefit Transfer have increased transparency and integrated marginalized groups into the financial mainstream. According to the minister, schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, and Ayushman Bharat have provided essential support for housing, cooking fuel, and healthcare.

The minister also emphasized India's economic trajectory, noting that the country is on track to become the world's third-largest economy by 2027. He pointed to advancements in infrastructure, including new highways, Vande Bharat trains, and digital networks, as evidence of the nation's rapid development. Along further praised the administration’s commitment to social justice and the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, which seeks to boost women’s involvement in democratic processes.

Regarding national security and foreign policy, the minister credited the current leadership with strengthening border defense and promoting a zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism. He noted that India’s role as the G20 president and its stance on global peace have elevated the country’s international reputation. Looking forward, Along expressed confidence that the vision for a developed India by 2047 is becoming a reality under the Prime Minister's guidance.
