Zunheboto Election Office Launches Youth Guitar Contest

Kohima: The District Election Officer in Zunheboto is turning to music to drive voter registration. Officials announced a guitar instrumental contest tied to the 2026 electoral roll revision. This SVEEP initiative targets young voters through creative engagement. Participants can win an acoustic guitar and other gear.

Registration opens August 4. Interested locals aged 21 and under should call 7005659143 or 7085203041. You can also message the District Election Office Zunheboto Instagram page. If turnout remains low, organizers may bump the age limit to 24. Applicants must provide proof of residency, tribal status, and birth date.

Record your performance on an acoustic or electric guitar. You must tag the District Election Office Zunheboto and follow @ceonagaland. Backing tracks are allowed. Submit your video between August 15 and August 25. Every post must include the caption, "THIS IS MY ENTRY FOR DEO Zunheboto SVEEP Guitar Challenge."

Judges will pick 10 finalists for a September 19 showdown at the DC Conference Hall. Bring your own instrument. The office provides speakers. Winning depends on timing, clarity, and social media engagement. Officials may scrap the event if fewer than 10 people sign up.
