Nagaland Man Admits Pizza Protest Receipt Was Fake

Kohima: A social media user from Nagaland recently admitted that his viral claim about feeding protesters at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar was a fabrication. Zha Lhou originally told followers he sent 150 Domino’s Farmhouse Cheese Burst pizzas to support members of the Cockroach Janta Party. These protesters are demanding education reforms and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over NEET paper leaks.

Lhou posted a bill to his Instagram account to back the story. He claimed he told the delivery driver, "Please just give it to anyone who hasn't eaten." The driver supposedly replied, "Aap toh bhagwan ho un logo ke liye." This account quickly gained traction, as many people praised the gesture as a meaningful act of solidarity. Lhou encouraged others to follow suit by sending food to the demonstration site.

The story fell apart when Lhou issued an apology for sharing a phony receipt. He admitted the bill was not real but insisted his original goal was only to encourage kindness. Lhou accepted full responsibility for the deception. He noted that large social media pages reposted his content without permission, which fueled the rapid spread of the false claim.

Lhou also addressed money collected through a QR code attached to his initial post. He reported that followers donated over Rs 12,000. He claimed that Rs 5,000 went toward buying biscuits for the students and promised to provide proof for all future spending. He apologized to anyone who felt misled by the stunt.
