Kohima: Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav told youth in Dimapur to hold onto their heritage while chasing new business ideas. He spoke Sunday at the Town Hall during the Youth Conclave-cum-Cultural Fest 2026. The Linguistic Minority Forum of Nagaland hosted the event to highlight cultural diversity.
Yadav wants young people to lead. He told the crowd that youth are the custodians of state heritage and the architects of its future. He pushed them to build their own opportunities instead of just hunting for jobs.
The governor praised the forum for bringing different communities together. He noted that these groups help the state economy and education. He pointed to Dimapur as a mix of many cultures that makes the area stronger.
Unity remains the top priority. "Identity should serve as a force that unites rather than divides," Yadav said during his address. He warned against letting labels split the population.
He compared the region to a rainbow. He argued that the beauty of the state comes from its many different colors working together. Yadav urged everyone to push for a brighter future through shared respect and hard work.
