AASU Honors 133 Students at Annual Felicitation Event

Kohima: The Aqahuto Area Students' Union gathered at the A.K. Industrial Village Baptist Church on Saturday to toast 133 top-performing students. The group honored 78 HSLC passers and 55 who cleared their HSSLC exams, along with local winners of various competitive tests.

Dhansiripar Sub-Divisional Officer Kelengunou Solo took the stage as the event speaker. She pushed the graduates to keep their focus sharp. Education acts as the bedrock for personal success and broad economic growth, she noted. It helps families beat poverty and builds a stronger society.

Solo reminded the room that the students now stand at a major crossroads for their careers. She urged them to pursue work in fields like medicine, technology, and administration. The official also warned the youth to avoid the trap of drugs, alcohol, and too much screen time.

Excessive phone use and social media can derail a young person's future. She demanded students keep a tight grip on their digital habits. "Technology has been created to help us, not to control us," she said. Discipline remains the only way to reach their goals.

The day included an invocation from Pastor Yevixu Swu and a presidential address by Hukhevi Awomi. Successful candidates Niloto Achumi and Olina Yeptho shared remarks on behalf of their peers. R Micheal Yanthan from the Dimapur Naga Students' Union offered greetings to the crowd.
