Farmer Killed in Manipur Paddy Field Attack

Imphal: Gunmen shot and killed a 53-year-old farmer on Saturday evening in Manipur. Haolal Singsit died instantly while working in his paddy field in the Kangpokpi district. He lived in Govajang village.

His wife, Nemneikim Singsit, worked in the field nearby. She managed to escape the attack without injury. Local residents reported hearing about 20 rounds of gunfire around 4 pm. The noise sparked panic throughout the area.

Security forces arrived later to secure the scene and recover the body. Officials are now searching for the suspects. "The motive behind the killing remains unclear," police stated as they launched an investigation to track down those responsible.
