Community groups demand justice after child assault in Medziphema

Kohima: The Chakhroma Students' Union and the Kuki Community Medziphema Town are calling for swift justice. They demand the authorities apply the full force of the POCSO Act against Paominlun Gangte. Police arrested the Maova village resident following the July 7 assault of a nine-year-old girl.

The CSU labeled the attack an offense against human dignity. They trust the police to handle the investigation with speed and impartiality. The union also thanked the Child Welfare Committee for stepping in to provide the victim with essential support services. They want the public to leave the family alone. The CSU asked residents to respect the child's privacy while the law runs its course.

The Kuki Community Medziphema Town also weighed in on the case. They called the incident inhuman and heinous. The organization stated that the "accused had no place within the community" and pushed for a rigorous legal outcome. Both groups remain firm in their goal of holding the perpetrator accountable while they pray for the victim's recovery.
