NPP Manipur Demands Answers After Kanto Sabal Arson Attack

Imphal: Manipur’s National People’s Party condemned the arson at Kanto Sabal village. Suspected Kuki militants burned homes in broad daylight. The village sits near the Leimakhong Army Camp. This proximity alarms local officials. The party described the incident as a grave act of violence.

The destruction of these homes forced families out. It hurts the push for peace in the state. Lorho S. Pfoze, the party’s state president, labeled the event an attack on communal coexistence. He stated, "The deliberate targeting of the village, which resulted in the destruction of homes and displacement of families, was an attack on peace, humanity and communal coexistence in Manipur."

The NPP wants immediate help for the victims. They pushed the state and federal government to launch a fast investigation. They also want tougher security at vulnerable sites. The party appealed to all citizens to turn away from violence and seek stability.
