Kohima: Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav has called for a unified effort between government agencies, educators, and the private sector to address the state's unemployment crisis. Speaking at the Don Bosco Job Fair in Kohima, Yadav highlighted that 70,469 job seekers are currently registered in Nagaland.
The Governor emphasized that collaborative partnerships are essential to creating sustainable career pathways for the next generation. He encouraged attendees to stay confident and open to new skills, noting that stable work provides more than just a paycheck. "Stating that employment brings dignity, self-reliance, and hope, the Governor called upon all stakeholders to continue working together to empower young people and enable them to contribute meaningfully to society."
The event also showcased the work of the Don Bosco Job Placement Network. As the first NGO in India to join the Ministry of Labour and Employment’s National Career Service Portal, the group has successfully placed over 40,000 individuals nationwide through training and guidance programs over the past seven years. Yadav thanked the recruiters at the event, noting that their participation reflects a strong belief in the potential of Nagaland's workforce to drive regional and national economic growth.
