Nagaland Breaks Ground on Four New Degree Colleges

Kohima: Nagaland Higher Education Minister Temjen Imna Along set the stage for four new model degree colleges. He laid the foundation stones virtually on July 3. These sites are in Niuland, Noklak, Shamator, and Tseminyu. The project falls under the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan, or PM-USHA.

Ministry of Education official Amit Singh attended the virtual ceremony. Local department heads and engineers also logged on to oversee the start of construction. This push aims to fix the state's education infrastructure. Officials want more students to reach college.

The Directorate of Higher Education shared the government's stance on social media. "This initiative reflects the Government's continued commitment to expanding access to quality higher education and creating greater opportunities for students through inclusive and equitable development," the post stated.
