Kohima: The Naga Students' Federation pulled the plug on a planned peaceful protest. The event was set for July 27. Leadership confirmed the delay today in a formal notification. The group will keep the demonstration on hold until further notice.
Vice president Vimeyiekho Vitso and general secretary Kenilo Kent made the call. They cited broad consultations and active talks with local authorities as the reason for the pause. The federation claims these meetings aim to fix specific issues raised by the group.
The leadership expects results. "The Federation remains steadfast in our commitment to safeguarding students' rights and will announce the next course of action should satisfactory progress not be made," Vitso and Kent said in the statement. The group thanked students, stakeholders, and the public for their ongoing support.
