Kohima: Naga Hospital Authority Kohima kicked off a two-day state-level seminar on September 22. Roughly 100 nursing personnel from across Nagaland gathered at the NHAK Auditorium. The event promotes safe, effective, and patient-centered care. It focuses on National Quality Assurance Standards, or NQAS.
Nursing Superintendent Pinuo Nakhro delivered the keynote address. She pushed for a shift in perspective. "Quality assessment becomes priority in health centres," Nakhro stated. She argued that quality stems from sustained effort and direction rather than just shiny gear.
The seminar covers infection prevention, environmental hygiene, and corrective action plans. Nakhro warned that hospital safety relies on every staff member. She noted that protecting workers is essential to protecting patients. Proper documentation remains a key theme to prevent information gaps during shift changes.
Organising Secretary Vezhodulu Swiho confirmed the event goes beyond mere credit points. It aims to boost capacity at rural sub-centres and urban hospitals alike. Pezalhouwheno led the opening program, which started with a pre-test to gauge baseline knowledge. The technical sessions wrap up on September 23.
