Kohima: The Mokokchung district officially launched the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan during a program held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office conference hall on June 15. The event gathered local stakeholders to coordinate a district-wide response to rising concerns over substance dependency.

During the session, Additional Deputy Commissioner Atsungba Walling highlighted the necessity of a multifaceted approach to the crisis. He stated that the campaign reminds everyone that combating substance abuse requires not only policies but also collective efforts such as supply curbing strategies, demand reduction initiatives and outreach programmes that begin at the community level. He encouraged all attendees to commit to the campaign’s success.

District Welfare Officer I. Mangliyangba delivered the keynote address, outlining the goals of the initiative. The program concluded with participants taking a formal pledge to support the mission and maintain personal responsibility throughout the duration of the campaign.
