Aizawl: A 35-year-old woman from Mizoram remains in critical condition following a motorcycle accident on Kolkata's EM Bypass. The victim, Lalrinmuani, hails from South Lungrang. She was riding as a pillion passenger on Friday when the bike lost control and skidded off the road.
Lalrinmuani is currently receiving care at the Trauma Care Unit of SSKM Hospital. Her helmet failed to prevent serious head trauma during the impact. The driver escaped the wreck without a scratch. Police have since detained the rider to determine how the bike veered off the carriageway. Pragati Maidan Police Station officials have opened a case into the incident. Officers are now reviewing local CCTV footage to piece together the events. A police spokesperson stated, "Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the area to establish the circumstances that led to the accident."
