Aizawl: A new documentary capturing the culture and landscapes of Mizoram will hold its world premiere at the Raindance Film Festival in London. This screening marks a significant international milestone for the Chalo India with Eric Ji series, an anthology project that showcases the diverse stories and traditions of India through independent cinema.

The film, titled Chalo India with Eric Ji: Mizoram, features former UK Member of Parliament Eric Ollerenshaw as its presenter. Through his perspective as a historian, the documentary highlights the music, traditions, and people of the northeastern state, moving beyond standard travel narratives to explore regional identity.

Raindance is recognized globally as a leading independent film platform and serves as a qualifying festival for the Oscars, BAFTA, and BIFA awards. The anthology series began gaining traction earlier this year with a successful screening of its Varanasi chapter at the International Film Festival of India.

Filmmaker Rajdeep Choudhury, who has lived in London for 17 years, developed the project after encountering the Indian government's Chalo India campaign. He aims to eventually document all 28 Indian states through individual films. The project recently earned recognition in New Delhi during the 60th anniversary celebrations of the India Tourism Development Corporation, where the production team was honored by senior government officials.
