Aizawl: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma officially launched two digital initiatives on Thursday, the Quarters Allotment Management System (QAMS) and the Mizoram House Online Reservation System. Held at the CM Conference Hall, the event highlighted the government's commitment to utilizing technology to transform the state into a digital-first administration. Developed under the General Administration Department, these platforms aim to replace cumbersome manual processes with efficient online alternatives.
The Chief Minister explained that the previous system, which relied on physical documentation and manual record-keeping, often resulted in unnecessary delays for applicants. By transitioning to a digital framework, the government intends to minimize the need for office visits and simplify administrative workloads for officials. The QAMS portal, created by the ICT Department, is now fully operational at qams.mizoram.gov.in, while the reservation system for Mizoram Houses is available at mizoramhouse.mizoram.gov.in.
The Mizoram House reservation platform has already demonstrated significant utility since its trial began on March 2. During this preliminary period, the portal processed 2,796 applications and successfully provided accommodations to 1,640 individuals. These successful outcomes reflect the dedication of the General Administration Department, the ICT Department, and the Mizoram State e-Governance Society in building robust public services.
